2025 Senior Project Fresh

Important changes to the Senior Project Fresh Program for 2025!

April 29, 2025, News Release

While sign-up this was initially set to begin May 1st, we have been told that MDHHS has now delayed sign-up until June 1, 2025, due to technical issues. The Huron County Health Department will continue to post updates on our website, Facebook page and in local media. Please note that the Senior Project Fresh Program is no longer being administered by the Huron County Health Department, and while we are working on ways to assist area seniors through this process, the new system and sign-up delay is beyond our control.

April 15, 2025, News Release

The Senior Project Fresh Program is implementing a new enrollment system this year.  This will change the way Huron County Seniors enroll in the program and receive coupons in 2025. The following changes include:

  • The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), through the vendor Healthy Together, will be enrolling seniors this year. Seniors will no longer call the Huron County Health Department to enroll in the program.

  • Applications will be completed and approved online, and a benefit card will be mailed to you through the postal service. Seniors will no longer come to the Huron County Health Department to complete a paper application and pick up coupon books.

  • MDHHS will be mailing a postcard to participants who enrolled in the Senior Project Fresh Program the past two years. The postcard will explain how to apply and receive a benefit card this year. Please look for this postcard in the mail soon.

  • Enrollment will start after May 1, 2025.

Once MDHHS shares with us the information on how to apply, the Huron County Health Department will post it in the local newspaper, our Facebook page and here on our website. Any additional information on the 2025 Senior Project Fresh Program will also be shared once it becomes available.
